ESP Day

Happy ESP Day!

Education Support Professionals (ESPs) are crucial members of the education system, working across both K-12 and higher education. They play an important role in ensuring students have access to a high-quality education by keeping schools running efficiently and supporting the safety, health, and readiness of students to learn.

ESPs take on a wide range of responsibilities, including:

Clerical tasks
Custodial and maintenance duties
Food services
Health and student services
Paraeducator support
Assisting classroom teachers with instructional activities
In addition to their work within schools, many ESPs engage with their local communities and volunteer. They also assist students with classroom materials, field trips, and class projects.

Thank you, ESPs, for ensuring our schools operate smoothly and for supporting the safety, health, and preparedness of students to learn.

Career Paths in the Military Explored at McBee High

Today, McBee High School hosted an event for students in grades 6–12, offering them a hands-on opportunity to explore career paths in the military and the significance of STEAM fields. Students rotated through various stations, including a Marine Corps hunter drone, table drones, a Humvee/heavy equipment display, and Integer Tech LC. Each station provided insights into career options, necessary skills, educational requirements, and potential pay scales. The event was expertly organized by Mrs. Terri Rhoad, Career Specialist.

Dr. Anderson speaks with Student Government and Teacher Cadet Students

Our Superindendent, Dr. Anderson, is visiting each high school in the district to speak with students. He started his visits at Cheraw High on Friday, November 1, where he met with Student Government members and Teacher Cadets. The students were eager to ask him questions and discuss school-related topics.
The image below depicts his visit with McBee High's Student Government and Teacher Cadets on Friday, November 8th.
The remaining high school visits will continue in January. He will meet with students at Central High on January 17th, and his final stop will be Chesterfield High on January 24.
National School Psychology Week

National School Psychology Week

National School Psychology Week is observed from November 11-15, with the theme "Spark Discovery." This year's theme highlights the contributions of school psychologists in inspiring new ideas, fostering change, and broadening possibilities for children and youth.
School psychologists apply their skills in mental health, learning, and behavior to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success. They collaborate with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to build nurturing and supportive learning environments.
A huge thank you goes out to CCSD's school psychologists for helping our students thrive.
Thank you for your support

Congratulations Chesterfield County School District Family!

The action to successfully renew our penny sales tax is a vote of confidence and confirmation that greater days are ahead for our school district! It is also an indication of the power and possibilities that we have when we unite behind a common cause. We have a great deal of work ahead, work that will be exciting and work that will take the efforts of us all. I am proud of each of you and excited about the future of our children and our schools. Again, thank you and congratulations!
