Board announces new superintendent

Chesterfield County School District’s Board of Trustees voted to hire Dr. Christopher Ballenger as its new Superintendent, effective July 1, 2025, at its special called meeting Monday, June 16, 2025.
After conducting a search using the S.C. School Boards Association, conducting two rounds of interviews, and hosting public meet and greets with the finalists, the Board and the District are excited to welcome Dr. Ballenger to the CCSD community.

On Thursday, June 12th, we celebrated an incredible milestone at Palmetto Learning Center β€” the graduation of our amazing Adult Education students!

Your dedication, perseverance, and hard work have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you. Whether you were returning to finish what you started or taking a bold new step toward your future, you’ve shown what it means to never give up on your dreams.

A big round of applause goes out to the Class of 2025! Your journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll accomplish.

CCS Proof of Residency
Acceptable documents include one of the following:
-Most recent electric, gas or water utility bill showing name and address of the parent/legal guardian (within last 60 days).
-Most recent tax notice on real property showing name and address of parent/legal guardian (Drivers License or Photo ID also required).
-Most recent copy of closing statement on home purchase with address and name of parent/legal guardian (Drivers License or Photo ID also required).
-Most recent copy of signed, dated lease agreement from rental company, mobile home park, or similar agent showing name and address of parent or legal guardian. (Drivers License or Photo ID also required).
